Birthday Giveaway!!

Today is my birthday! I hope you can come to my party because I am giving away a party favor to one lucky quilter and one lucky knitter.

Here are the two prizes:

A quilt for a quilter...

And sock yarn and a set of bamboo double pointed needles for a knitter.

The quilt was made by me and measures 14"x20" and will be very hard to part with. Luckily I made it with this giveaway in mind which makes it a little easier. The sock yarn is from my stash. It is Knit Picks Essential in the Burgundy colorway. I hope it will go to a good home, become a beautiful pair of socks, and write me letters of its adventures now and then.

All you need to do to come to the party is leave me a comment telling me if you are a knitter or a quilter and within that genre what pattern you have made most often. If you haven't made a pattern multiple times then tell me your favorite one.

Yeah, I'm first!!!!Well, to start, I'm both a knitter and a quilter. But I've been quilting for over 10 years and knitting only about 3 years. I adore that little quilt and if I'm chosen to receive it, I absolutely promise, word of honor, cross my heart and hope to die, that I will give it a good home! PROMISE! I think I've done more stack n' whack and single-arc double wedding ring quilts than any other pattern. I've done 3 of each of those... so far. I love both of those patterns cause they go together so quickly. Pick me, please!

I'm a quilter. The one pattern I've done multiple time and would do again is the Bento Box. It goes together quickly and produces a nice quilt. But overall, I rarely ever do a pattern repeatedly. I get distracted way too easy.

Happy Birthday to you!
I,m a quilter, I can knit, but do not feel like a knitter, the pattern that I love the most the Ohio star block. I live in the netherlands so I think I will not get the quilt (it's adorable) but that doesn't matter.

Well happy happy birthday to you! What a sweet thing to do - give away on your birthday. I'll have to remember that for me next time. I'm a quilter. I have made my own kitchen quilt so many times. Its my own pattern. Its pretty simple though, its a square in a square.

Happy Birthday! I hope that you have a great day and that you are given some great yarn and quilting material. You know that I am both a knitter and quilter, and I love to try new things. My favorite things to knit are wash cloths and my favorite quilt pattern would be the charm quilt tote bag. I have made atleast 7 of them. Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday!

I'm a knitter (I'm learning to quilt, but I definitely wouldn't call myself a quilter). The pattern I've made most often is Thuja socks.

Happy Birthday to you!!
I am a quilter and love the little quilt you have made. I'm on my third minkee quilt with appliqued bears on. It seems a popular choice in the family for a baby quilt.

Happy Birthday to you. I hope you are having a great day.
I'm a quilter and the pattern I always turn to is the Log Cabin, or any version of it. I love the fact that it goes together so quickly and you can play around with so many designs from it.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

Happy Birthday - to you and my daughter. Wonderful how many comments you're getting now - and from all around the country! Like having tons of pen-pals, isn't it?

Enjoy your birthday with you CA family. And we'll see you home soon.

Happy Birthday! I'm glad we got to spend it together! I would definitely say I'm more of a quilter. The little quilt you made is so dang cute! I love it, I can't believe you're giving it away. I usually like to try new things each time I make a quilt, but we have done a few variations on the Dear Jane quilt together. Hope your travels home were safe!

Happy Birthday!

My favorite socks to knit very basic ones, usually with a ribbed leg and stockinette foot. Always with short-row heels and toes.

Hi Trish, hope you are having a great time in San Diego. Happy (belated) birthday. I love making scrappy strip quilts, flip and stitch style, done on batting so the quilting is done as you go. I've made several of them.

Happy quilting,

My favorite quilt pattern is a stripped Kaleidoscope quilt. I've made it 3 times and I'm working on a fourth one.

I'd love to be included in the quilting giveaway. Happy Birthday!! I guess I better start thinking of a giveaway for my birthday in December! Great Idea for a giveaway.

Hi -
I am a knitter and a beginning quilter. My most done knitting project has been Baby Surprise Jackets by Elizabeth Zimmerman. Easy and quick to do but makes an impressive shower gift when included with knitted hat and booties. I am learning to quilt to do baby quilts.

Happy Birthday, I love your quilt! I am a knitter and quilter. My knitting skills are still in the baby stages. I am working on my second baby sweater and love it. My goal is to be able to knit a fair isle sweater. Quilting has been a passion for the last 20 years. I still have my grandmas first sewing machine and guess what that is...a feather weight that i still use along with my viking that i have. I am proud to be a quilter and my favorite is doing log cabins. I am a hand quilter so I really want to learn needleturn so I can do applique..I would be proud to win either prize.

I am both a quilter and a knitter but quilting is what I am the most obsessive with. I am in my early stages of knitting, working on a simple sweater right now. It is past your birthday but I hope it was a good one for you. Happy belated birthday to you.

Wow. Doesn't look like you've drawn for a winner yet, so I'll take a chance. I found you though 2 other's blog links. First, happy birthday. We are just a couple days apart. I used to be a knitter 20 yrs ago, then I discovered quilting and the only thing I can remember making more than 2 times is the Yellow Brick Road pattern. I love to try them all at least once. I am starting back into knitting recently though and have made one sock and one cabled wristlet. Anyone else out there who peters out on making the mates, like me? I would really love to win the yarn as I have lots of Christmas gift ideas brewing.

I am a quilter that has bad hands and it nearly kills me to do bindings. I don't have trouble doing the machine part it is the hand part that kills my hands and I pay for it for days after I do the hand work. I love the way you show how to do the binding by machine from start to finish. Can't wait to try this new way. Hugs thelma
