California Dreamin'

I just finished my California Dreamin' socks that I knit on our trip to Disneyland. They fit so great and feel so good that I am having a hard time taking them off to wash them. I have made this pattern three times and I have definately perfected it to fit my feet.

I love this yarn! It is Knit Picks Essential Tweed in the Marina colorway. The color reminds me of the blue California sky which we don't always get to see here in Seattle. Before our trip I had placed an order with Knit Picks hoping it would get here before we left. It came in plenty of time and I got to take my knew Harmony sock dpns. They are so beautiful and I loved knitting these socks with them. Now everytime I wear them I can remember our awesome trip to California (where I grew up) to see Disneyland, Legoland, and my family.

My block of the month class just ended and the next years quilt starts in May. I went ahead and signed up to do it again because...well... it's tradition now. This will be my fifth year doing it and even though they raised the price by a lot, I just couldn't walk away.

This is the quilt. It has a lot of applique which is good because it will force me to applique more. It is called Piece, Love, & Applique and it is from Lizzie B Cre8tive Designs. Should be a fun year working on this quilt. I love block of the month patterns because if you actually do one block a month it is not overwhelming and before you know it you almost have a quilt top!
