Locks of Love

This was me yesterday.

I grew my hair out so that I could eventually donate it to Locks of Love. I have had it long for quite a few years now and I have really enjoyed it. But it has started to annoy me and I have been ready to cut it for a couple weeks. Too bad I couldn't chop it off then. I had to wait for my hair appointment. As it got closer I got more nervous and attached, but in the end I didn't chicken out. I was able to donate about a foot (12 inches) of my hair.

This is me today. (wow, I look a lot blonder in the sunshine)

It feels weird to have it short again. I wonder how much weight I have lost since a couple hours ago. Haha! Fun to have a short cut that I can style.

It might take a little getting used to, but I am glad I did it!

Your hair looks great either way. It's so nice of you to donate your hair to such a worthy cause. My daughter's been letting her hair grow too and looks forward to getting it cut for Locks of Love.

Good for you!!! Some friends and I have always wanted to grow our hair out for Locks of Love, but the length ends up driving us nuts!!

That is a very good cause to donate your hair too. You look very pretty with your new hair cut. It makes you look younger, which always a good thing!

What a wonderful thing to do! You have such beautiful hair. I had to laugh when you called your current hair short, though -- mine is much shorter and I think it's long! It's all in what you're used to, I guess.

My mom did that last year. She had to mail her hair and she reported it was about 1/2 pound.

Anyway--you look great and that is so cool!

You look great! Love your new 'do and what you did with your locks.

Your sock is looking really great too. It still seems intimidating to me, though.

Super wonderful of you to do this and I'm happy to see a lovely photo of you as well.

(I donated as well. It's wunnerful that we share this giving spirit of the hair. Some gals can't let go... and that's okay, too.)

just came across your blog as I was blog hopping...

you have beautiful hair :o)

Our son is a cancer survivor and when he finally grew his hair out long enough in high school, he had a mini assembly at school and had faculty, staff and classmates cut his hair that we had sectioned in little rubberbands. His beautiful curls were donated to Locks of Love. and they raised money for Children's Miracle Network that day too.

Blessings & Aloha!
